What is an "exchange program"?
A York exchange program can be defined as "a formal agreement between
York University and a post-secondary institution (exchange partner)
in another country". Credits that are earned abroad can be applied towards
York degree. These exchange programs are conducted at both the undergraduate
and graduate levels.
York conducts more than 100 exchange opportunities in 35 countries!
What are the different types of exchange programs are available?
The University-Wide Exchange Program conducted by York has partnerships
with other universities around the world in the following countries: Australia,
Barbados, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guyana,
Hong Kong, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Morocco, The Netherlands, Spain,
Sweden, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, USA and Wales.
Undergraduate students in Honors program and graduate students of any
discipline are eligible to apply for an exchange program. Some exchanges
are restricted to certain disciplines.
You can also take part in this amazing informal Study anywhere programs,
for example, you get an opportunity to study British history in England,
take summer courses in Italy or computer science courses in Germany. You
need to check with your faculty or department office for the availability
of this program or opportunity.
Also, there is a new International Internship Program, which enables students
to gain cross-cultural work experience since they are placed in South
America, Europe and Southeast Asia.
