York Scholarship
York University provides
very circumscribed opportunities of scholarships to students bursting
into programs at the master's and doctoral level. There are no application
forms to get enrolled into these scholarships. The Graduate Program Directors
make offers to selected candidates who have an undisputable "A" standing
in their last two academic years.
Graduate Fellowships for Academic Distinction
The Graduate Fellowships for Academic Distinction is presented to
enrolling students with high potential for future leadership in international
affairs. The eligibility criteria for these awards is that you have to
be engaged in research of the Social Science aspects of environmental
protection, Canada as a Pacific nation, or political economy. The Graduate
Fellowships for Academic Distinction include a scholarship of $5,000 for
master's students; $10,000 for doctoral students and a graduate assistantship
valued at $7,000 and all tuition fees.
International Tuition Fee Scholarships
International Tuition Fee Scholarship is different from Fellowship. These
scholarships are presented on the advocacy of the Graduate Program to
which you have enrolled. These scholarships are directly implemented to
the international differential tuition fee in varying amounts (which was
up to $4,800 in 2003-2004) and are presented when the offer of admission
is being made.
Teaching, Graduate and Research Assistantships
Stipends are awarded to some graduates who enroll themselves in different
activities such as research and teaching.
