York has five libraries
that contain almost six million items like books, print periodicals, theses,
archival material, maps, films and music CDs. There are more than 2.5
million books and also, we have subscribed to 13,000 electronic journals.
Every year, there are more than 150,000 in-person reference questions
that are answered. We also conduct guest lectures, library workshops and
research seminars which is attended by almost 16,000 students. Also, we
provide access to 350 Internet workstations throughout the libraries.
We always look to improve our holdings, we collect original papers and
archival material to help and support research on Canadian women, writers,
the arts, social issues and multiculturalism.
